Established in 1939 on 80 acres of leased property on Lake Springfield, Camp Illinek is now host to year round camping and programs as well as many Cub Scout Summer programs.
Conveniently located between Springfield and Chatham, Camp Illinek can be the site of your next adventure.
Scouting Groups and Nonprofits looking to use Camp Illinek for activities and events should use the reservation form on this page. Other Groups should contact the Abraham Lincoln Council for rental details.
As of January 20th 2021 the Camp Illinek Reservation Form has been updated. Please make sure you are using the current form. Units in need of a temporary meeting location should contact the Council Office before submitting forms.
Unit Aquatics
Illinek has canoes and kayaks available for units to rent to supplement their year round programing.
Units wishing to make use of the boats should contact the Scouting Service Center to confirm availability.
All Unit aquatic activities must follow the Guide to Safe Scouting and the Safety Afloat Guidelines
THe SAILING training CENTER
Made possible by a donation from the “Skipper” the Sailing Training Center offers year round options for small groups.
The Skippers Deck offers guests a full range of multi-media equipment for meetings, a kitchenette for catered events, and a beautiful view of Lake Springfield for all occasions.
The Crews Quarters enable small groups an effective way to spend the night, and can be reserved with or seperate from the Skippers Deck.

CAMPMASTER Lodge
Featuring 2 fully furnished suites, the Campmaster lodge offers sleeping accommodations for up to 8. Each suite features a complete kitchen, common area, 1 and a half bathrooms, and two bedrooms. An enclosed outdoor seating area and accessible parking makes this a great place to spend a weekend.
